WALDORF ROCKET: COMING OUT MARCH 2013

Waldorf just announced a new analog synthesizer that sounds great for the price. The new synth is called the Rocket. The Rocket has 8 oscillators and it receives power thru USB. It has a stereo headphone jack, mono I/O and midi I/O. There seems to be a trend forming around mono analog synths and I’m happy its making a come back. Now that we have different options today for mono analog synths, maybe one day we will see more poly analog synths available down the line.

I like that Waldorf is putting efforts in the analog synth direction. In a day where digital is king, I get a warm and fuzzy feeling to see efforts like these. I wonder why Waldorf waited after NAMM to announce it? Well, the cat is out of the bag now so hopefully they have a good distributor because these boxes will be flying off the shelves. Can wait to review one in the future. Also, the Rocket may be priced around $270 US. This synth is something to be on the look out for especially for the budget conscious people.
