Akai Announces the MPC Element

[fresh_divider style=”dotted”]

Akai is getting ready to release a striped down version of the MPC Ren and Studio called MPC Element. So far I think the software is the same but I won’t know until further investigation. Read more below.

The essential instrument for computer-based music production, MPC Element brings powerful music-making capability to your computer in a slimline design that’s made to produce. You get cutting-edge features, including MPC Note Repeat and Swing, along with the all-new MPC Essentials software. With the included 1GB sound library, MPC Essentials empowers you with the essential sounds of modern music production, and you can easily import your own sound samples. MPC Essentials can operate standalone and can also work seamlessly with your current DAW as a plugin. MPC Element comes with everything you need to make music right away, and, because it operates via standard MIDI, you can also use MPC Element to control MIDI music software you already have. An 1/8-inch MIDI input and an 1/8-inch MIDI output are both onboard and 1/8-inch to 5-pin MIDI cables are included.

  • See this is what pisses me off about Akai. They realized they dropped the ball on that whackass Mpc Fly and Studio. Maschine is killin them in the portable department so now they wanna come out with something comparable yet they stopped shopping the Mpc1000 and 500. I hate when they do that. Akai your strong suit is your Mpc hardware and thats where you should stay. The only leg you have to stand on is the Renaissance and last time i checked you werent doing ballpark numbers with it. People are still buying your hardware including me. Only thing is now i have to scrounge around on ebay for a 1000 now. Thanks alot Akai.

    • Hey. Yeah, the MPC Fly is a joke. As far as hardware goes, Akai still supports the MPC 5000 but that's it. With the MPC Element I think Akai is trying to provide a cheaper way to use the MPC Software. Many people wanted to use the MPC Software without the controller but I think it's easier for Akai to use the drum pad controller as a dongle to combat piracy. At this present moment I reserve judgement until further notice.
