Chop Suey From Tracktion

Chop Suey

Chop Suey, a new kick drum plugin from Dawesome and renowned techno producer Björn Torwellen, is now available through Tracktion Corporation.

Sinee and Dawesome is a collaboration between German techno musician Björn Torwellen and mathematician and AI veteran Peter V (AKA Dawesome). Peter V is the designer of Abyss, a synthesizer with a unique approach to music composition and a strong sound engine. ‘This plugin is the product of all I’ve learnt about kick drum design over the last 20 years,’ stated Björn Torwellen, a multi-talented musician, DJ, and music producer.

A kick drum is one of the most important components of beat-driven music, and getting it to work well with the bass is crucial to a successful composition. Musicians are always on the lookout for the ideal kick, one with a beautiful transient, a cool punch, and a boomy tail.

The majority of programs layer sound. For kicks, this rarely works, resulting in a weak, muddy mess. Chop Suey is a versatile plugin that allows users to sequence rather than layer parts, removing any phasing issues and leaving a kick sound with a crisp transient, snappy body, and thunderous conclusion.

Chop Suey

Chop Suey is a visual precision tool that allows users to finely adjust one aspect of a song without impacting or weakening the others. The plugin workflow was created to react swiftly to parameter changes, which means it can adapt quickly to changes in resonance, reducing zipper noises and artefacts.

Made by music makers, for music makers Chop Suey is a sound design powerhouse that provides everything you need to create intricate, hard-hitting bass drums for house, techno, hip-hop, and other dance music genres. The launch price will be $58 until May 22, 2022, after which it will be $89.
